Site Supervisor: Lorena Velazquez
My name is Lorena Velazquez and I have been employed at Coastside Children’s Programs since October 1996. I am married, and I have 3 boys and in my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, listening to music but most of all, I like spending time with my younger boys at their soccer games, where I get to volunteer as a Team manager for the last 4 yrs. I am very passionate in children’s development and the many ways that they learn. Being able to be a part of that process and education is one of my favorite aspects of Early Childhood Education. I love doing art projects with the children and encouraging them to be creative. Having the opportunity to watch the children learn and grow is one of the best parts of my job.
Teacher: Alma Aguilar
My name is Alma Aguilar. I am excited to be joining the teaching team at El Granada. Previously I was working at Montara Preschool in the morning and in the Montara after school program in the afternoon, though I continue to help at the Montara Preschool in the mornings I am looking forward to teaching the children at El Granada. I have an Associate Teacher Permit in Child Development. I have more than 24 units in Child Development and I am working toward my Teacher Permit and my Associate Degree.
I have more than 14 years of experience working with kids. I start working at CCP in 2013 at the Half Moon Bay After School Program then I move to Montara Preschool/School Age. I enjoy working with the children because they don't judge others and they appreciate people as they are.
My goal is to get my Associate Degree and an Infant/Toddler Care Specialization for CD Permit or Children's with Special Needs.
