 Fall is officially here and the school year is in full swing! The children have been busy painting fall trees, making squirrels, pumpkin canvases, artistic representations of apple pies, as well as celebrating the life and legacy of Dolly Parton and the impact she left on the children of the world. The children have also been working on self portraits and making a web of where they were born along with their parents’ origin of nationality as well. It is beautiful to see how our CCP school family comes together from so many different countries and nationalities. In addition, Picture Day, Read Together HMB Library event, CCP Parents Night Out/Kids Night In, Halloween Parade, Halloween Potluck and classroom parties of course!

Thankfully, everyone is safe, but they are now facing the tremendous disruption, uncertainty, and heartache that comes with such a loss. Please see in details below a way to help. In a matter of moments, they lost everything. Because of their preparedness, courage, and quick thinking, and with the incredible response from the Coastside firefighters, everyone made it out safely, including their tenant and her dog, and the fire did not spread. While there is deep gratitude that no lives were lost, the Cuellar family is now left to face the overwhelming reality of starting over after losing their home and belongings. We are excited to spend a new school year with the children in our community and provide a safe and fun environment where they can relax, learn, and make new friends! Whether the children are joining us for the first time or returning to our program, we are so happy to have them with us. September is all about getting comfortable, making new friends, and learning classroom routines. Our afternoons include arts and crafts, free play, quiet reading, homework time, and outdoor play. At Montara School Age we have welcomed Ms. Jenevieve (Ms. Jenna) to the classroom and the children have warmed up to her with open arms and she is already beginning to make bonds with the children! Hi! My name is Jena and I'm excited to work at CCP teaching your children. I homeschooled my children for 20 years and have discovered that working with children to help fuel their natural curiosity and love of exploration is something that I want to continue to do with my life. I am currently working on my AA in Early Childhood Education @ Skyline. I love to learn and want to share that love with your children while I'm also excited about all that your children will in turn teach me about themselves, their dreams, and their abilities. I look forward to working with all the children and their families to support our beautiful community.  At El Granada School Age we welcomed back Teacher Fatima after her maternity leave! Congratulations Teacher Fatima! She has been with CCP for over 4 years and has worked at all Sites. We are very happy to welcome her back! And at HMB Preschool the children have been preparing for the new school year and the fall season by growing and caring for none other than PUMPKINS! Thank you to CCP parent Carina Finucane for transforming our mud pit into a magical interactive garden for our children. Many thanks to our parent volunteers, staff, and site supervisor Yesi for collaborating to make this project come to life. Our ribbon cutting was a success!   |
