David holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cañada College in Redwood City, a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and is certified in both first aid and CPR.

In the early 1990’s, after working in the electrical field for many years, David went back to school to pursue a career in early childhood education. In 1996 he was hired as a Teacher at the Coastside Children’s Programs’ Half Moon Bay Center. Since that time he has served as a Co-Supervisor, and in 2006 was appointed as the Supervisor of the Half Moon Bay Center.

A resident of Half Moon Bay, David is actively involved in the community. He serves as a member of the Second Harvest Food Bank Advisory Committee, as a community member of the Hatch School Site Council, as a supervisor for Hatch School’s Homework Club, as a coach for a local Little League team, as a regular volunteer at the annual Pumpkin Festival, as a volunteer with Rebuilding Together projects on the Coastside, and on Sunday mornings as a caregiver at Mariner’s Community Church working with the smallest children.

David’s hobbies include a wide range of home improvement projects, as well as making doll houses for CCP classrooms, gingerbread houses for the annual Ritz Carlton CCP fundraiser, and items for silent auction fundraisers for both Coastside Children’s Programs and Hatch School. He is the recipient of the 2009 Mary Elizabeth Griffin Children’s Award.
